The Team
I have worked in the construction industry all of my working life, specialising in timber windows restoration and draught proofing for the last 11 years. Located in Walsall Wood in the West Midlands I have worked at many grade two listed buildings including Western Park and Hilton Hall.
About Us
Shire Oak Sash was founded in April 2018. After working for many years in the sash window industry we wanted to provide our customers with the highest standard of work we possibly could and to do so we decided to open our own company to ensure that each and every period window we renovate is converted back to its original beauty but with modern technology.
At Shire Oak Sash we endeavour to always make the customer and the customers needs our number one priority. Using our wealth of experience we give the customer the best advice for solutions where we feel is needed.

Full Cill ReplacementList Item 1
The cill of the window can be replaced with a new cill without having to incur the costs of a whole new frame.

Full Sash ReinstatementList Item 2
If you have had a UPVC or timber window fitted this can be removed and a sash window can be reinstated to give the sash window its original appeal back.

Double GlazingList Item 3
Original sash’s can either be double glazed or have new double glazed joinery fitted.
This service is dependent on conservation areas.

Broken CordsList Item 4
To fix broken cords the window is re-corded to operate in a balanced system.

Broken glass is removed and replaced, like for like.

The old paint is removed allowing the window to operate smoothly as it was meant to.

Rotten and bad timber is removed and replaced with new timber.

Prevent old windows from letting the cold air in and rattling.

"I live in a listed house with sash windows which had never worked properly. It would have cost a fortune to replace the windows, so I engaged Shire Oak Sash. Mark was brilliant. He gave me a set time to do the windows and finished exactly when he said he would - he took a day for each window. Each window was completely refurbished which included replacing the lead weights and even changing the glass panes for old glass. There was no mess and no fuss. The windows look fabulous with new brass locks and security catches and work perfectly. Mark even installed screws in the frame so that I can quickly and simply remove a window if I need to get large furniture in the house ( a godsend in an old house ). Comparatively, having the windows restored saved thousands of pounds over having them replaced. I cannot recommend Mark and Shire Oak enough. I love my windows!"

"I would like to thank Mark at Shire Oak Sash for the fantastic job he has done in renovating and improving the sash windows in my flat. The windows were in a very sorry state, some of the wood was rotting, the glass was moving in the panels and I needed to use pieces of wood to keep them propped open as the cords were broken. In just three days and for a very competitive price - Mark removed the windows, sanded them back to wood, painted them, re-braced & re-corded them before reinstalling them with the addition of draft proof strips and new locking catches. Now - not only do they now look amazing but they open & close really smoothly and there are no drafts. They also no longer rattle when trucks go by. They are as good as new and I couldn’t be happier. I would recommend Shire Oak Sash to anyone is thinking of having their sash windows repaired or renovated. Thanks Mark."
